Charles Darwin stated in his theory of evolution that species can only survive if they are adapted to their environment. Organisms must therefore evolve to adapt to the changing environment, and evolution is generally achieved through genetic mutation. Currently, life on Earth has evolved to produce the human species. However, to avoid the same fate as the dinosaurs, we need a new evolutionary paradigm.

Humans can achieve intelligent evolution. In our brains, knowledge and wisdom are like genes, and new information is like genetic variations, with truth being the best variation and falsehood being the worst. These variations can be passed from one brain to another by communication. Intelligent evolution has three major advantages over genetic evolution.

First, intelligence spreads more rapidly than genes do. Although knowledge and wisdom are not innate, they can be shared with the entire human race, whereas genes are only passed on to our descendants.

Second, intelligent mutation is more effective than genetic mutation, because our scientific discoveries and artistic creations are conscious acts, whereas genetic mutations occur at random.

Third, intelligent evolution is better adapted to the environment than genetic evolution. Fossil evidence shows that most species became extinct. Mass extinctions are usually caused by the descent of the great ice age and asteroid impacts. Furthermore, astrophysics indicates that our sun will vaporize all life on Earth by becoming so large in billions of years. It is impossible for any organism to survive all these cosmic events through genetic evolution.

Obviously, the only way we can adapt to all environments in the long run is through intelligent evolution. This evolution also promises to solve the global problems we face today. The more intelligent our species becomes, the more we will be able to solve all existential threats to humanity and discover the ultimate truth about the universe.
